76 Years Young
Tell us about your family and your accomplishments.
- I have 5 children, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grand children
- I have lived in Rockmart since I was 6 years old.
- I was teller at a bank for 16 years.
- My husband & I had a plant nursery and we sold plants.
- I like to sing. I sang in the Piedmont Avenue Baptist Church choir for 64 years. I know all the words to MANY hymns. My favorite hymn is Amazing Grace.
- I walk 2 - 2 ½ miles per day in my yard, at home, in the park and around the Senior Center. It makes me feel better. I have arthritis and walking helps me a lot. I participated in the AARP Senior Center Walking Program last April. Since that time, I have walked about 600 miles.
- I've been a Hospice Volunteer since 1993. I currently go once a week to sit with 2 patients. When people ask me, "how can you do it," I say you have to accept it and I go to relieve the caregiver and just be there for them.
