Tell us about your family and your accomplishments.

Ms. Doris Webb is 88 years old. She lives at Mossy Oak Living Centers in Jessup, GA. Ms. Doris was born in 1920 in Donald,GA, a small community out of Ludowici, GA.

She was married when she was 18 years old and moved to Jesup. She has one son and one grandson. Her husband was a boiler maker by trade so their family had to move from place to place so that he could keep work. Ms. Doris enrolled her son into military school so that he would not have to change schools each time they moved. She is proud to have given hom a good education.

When Ms. Webb was about 45 years old, she and her husband settled into a permanent home in Jesup. Se says she has lived a long good life because she loved the fresh air and fresh fruits and vegetables. She gardened, canned and froze her own meat and vegetables.

She and her husband loved to fish together. "Plenty of fish in the freezer," she always says. She never drank anything. She laughs and says, "That is a man's thing. Women aren't supposed to drink alcohol."

Do you visit a senior center?

Yes. Wayne County.

How long have you been attending the center? What made you start going to the center?

Two years.

What kinds of activities do you enjoy at the center

I like all of the activities, but exercise the best.

How has the center helped you Age Well and Live Well?

I never was very social. I was a housewide and I never worked. I enjoy the socialization with others.

Do you volunteer at your senior center or at other community organizations?

None.

What advice would you give to young people today on how to live a good long life?

Don't drink.
